I've been looking for a dress to wear to a family wedding this summer, and this is the one. It fits beautifully (make sure you look at the size guide and measure yourself), is incredibly flattering (not just me saying this, friends and family too!), and I can wear normal underwear with it - no need to faff about with a strapless bra as I would have needed to do with other dresses I tried. Not forgetting, of course, the pockets which are big enough to actually function as pockets, hurrah!
Gorgeous flattering and comfortable dress, bought for a wedding in April and can’t wait to wear it. And it has pockets 😍
Florence Teal Cotton Satin Dress
I normally go for the fab patterns Emily and Fin have, so a simple bold colour was a bit of a change. I got so many compliments when I wore this for a wedding. I love the Florence dress, and have a couple in more summery prints. I almost went for the teal, but the green was better for my colouring and I felt a little more versatile about things I would wear it to.
The material is fairly heavy so you will want to give it an iron before wearing but it didn't get too creased - danced for several hours and it still looked good at the end of the night. Plus deep pockets is always a win at a wedding when you don't want to carry a big bag.
This made my waist look a couple of sizes smaller thinks to the positioning of the waistband (I'm a 14/16, but went up to an 18 to accommodate my JJ chest - the Florence is the only one I tend to go up a size for because of the neckline). And unlike lots of dresses where my cleavage tries to escape, everything stayed in place and gave me a fabulous hourglass figure.
The lack of photos is because I hate having my picture taken.
Gorgeous dress, great fit. So many compliments.
Note: be really careful on the first few washes as I dyed a couple of things green, luckily only things that didn't matter! The dress colour hasn't changed, just excess dye being washed out. Totally my mistake but I hope others can learn from it.
