I normally go for the fab patterns Emily and Fin have, so a simple bold colour was a bit of a change. I got so many compliments when I wore this for a wedding. I love the Florence dress, and have a couple in more summery prints. I almost went for the teal, but the green was better for my colouring and I felt a little more versatile about things I would wear it to.
The material is fairly heavy so you will want to give it an iron before wearing but it didn't get too creased - danced for several hours and it still looked good at the end of the night. Plus deep pockets is always a win at a wedding when you don't want to carry a big bag.
This made my waist look a couple of sizes smaller thinks to the positioning of the waistband (I'm a 14/16, but went up to an 18 to accommodate my JJ chest - the Florence is the only one I tend to go up a size for because of the neckline). And unlike lots of dresses where my cleavage tries to escape, everything stayed in place and gave me a fabulous hourglass figure.
The lack of photos is because I hate having my picture taken.
Gorgeous dress, great fit. So many compliments.
Note: be really careful on the first few washes as I dyed a couple of things green, luckily only things that didn't matter! The dress colour hasn't changed, just excess dye being washed out. Totally my mistake but I hope others can learn from it.
This is absolutely beautiful. I love it. It’s a glorious green that really brings out my eyes, and a very flattering style. Cotton sateen is much inclined to crease, but irons beautifully so that’s not really a problem. The dress fits true to size, and is a perfect cut for the slim-but-curvy type of figure (I’m a size 8).
