Our Clay colour was inspired by a friend’s holiday photographs, hearing tales of her road trip through the deserts of Arizona and seeing the warm orangey hues in the sunbaked landscape.
We wanted to create a plaid that would conjure up picnics on sunny days and the vibrant blue was inspired by the cover of a book packed for a trip. This tone, contrasting with the fresh, unread white pages, felt full of the promise of new discoveries.
This came from a visit to the seaside, an arrangement of pastel deckchairs in the afternoon sunlight caught our eye and we snapped a photograph to come back to later and picked out this peach tone.
This print was sparked by a piece of vintage fabric discovered in our archive. We brightened the mid pink to stand out against the teal blue more and added in the dark pink to give it a freshness and more modern feel.
